What has resistance to Covid19 - The narrative and shutdown of Denmark in 2020 to do with each other. Well, not much except that the initiator of this event, (Mikkel Meinike) both loves samba and is critical of the global narrative as justified the violent restrictions in the years 2020 - 2022 and in this way it all goes into a higher unity.
In Pentecost weekend 6 - 8 June 2025 there is the traditional "Copenhagen Carneval" in Copenhagen. A great event where the different carnival groups can show their great dance and costumes.
Alongside this, Mikkel Meinike walks around the streets of Copenhagen with his homemade sound truck and offers a little affordable samba workshop on the open street. The dance is gentle and comfortable and the difficulty is customized beginners. It takes a quarter - twenty minutes and you end up dancing a little samba choreography together.
The trip through the city starts from Nørreport at. 13. A team is made at Kultorvet, Nytorv and City Hall Square and at each of these destinations, it is attempted to gather people from the street to participate.
